Digital Marketing Trends 2024

If you think digital marketing was rapidly developing in 2023, wait until you see what 2024 has got in store! With the rise in AI, more businesses are investing their marketing budget into digital strategies, and with updates popping up day after day, business owners should be prepared for a bumpy ride. Luckily, experts from across the globe have been putting forward their suggestions on what can be expected from digital marketing trends this year, and what businesses need to be doing to not just keep up with their competitors but stay one step ahead!

In this week’s blog post, we’re going to summarise the top 4 predictions for digital marketing in 2024, so you have an idea on what to expect!

Let’s begin…

1. Artificial Intelligence

AI is undoubtedly going to change the game this year, but there’s a catch! A lot of businesses simply won’t use AI tools correctly and will find themselves with some poorly curated content which doesn’t align with their tone of voice, their audience, and their overall brand message. The companies that use AI well will benefit from the fantastic tool that it can be, therefore it is something that businesses should take undertake some research in! This isn’t a hard task and a few videos on YouTube can provide some much-needed support

2. An Emphasis On Authentic Content

Gone are the days where Instagram was all about showing the highs and none of the lows; ever since COVID, authentic content has resonated with audiences much more. In-fact, research shows that 86% of consumers cite brand authenticity as a key factor when deciding what brands they like and support, despite only 37% of consumers agreeing that brands are delivering on the authentic content that they desire*. This is an easy trend to keep up with, and one that doesn’t take much effort. Whether it’s on your website, your email newsletters, your social media, or your blog posts – KEEP IT REAL! Trust us, your audience will love you for it!

3. A Focus On Sustainability

With 50% of consumers ranking sustainability as a top 5 value driver* brands are set to leverage the increase in demand for sustainable practices and market themselves as a sustainable brand within their market. This doesn’t just mean greenwashing, any business can do that, but making more sustainable decisions within business and effectively communicating this through digital marketing channels. For example, you could do a whole social media mini-series around the changes that your business is making to become environmentally conscious. This will help to drive up consumer perception of your brand, whilst also increasing your social media figures!

4. Social Media SEO

As social media arguably becomes more of a search engine than ever before, brands need to be optimising their content so that the algorithm draws users to their content. Whilst this was previously only important to do on websites (and it still is), it is now important to also do it across all your social media channels! This comes as 75.78% of consumers have used social media to search for or discover new products and brands* – and if you don’t optimise your pages your competitors will! Don’t worry though, by making a few tweaks to your bio, adding some keywords to your content, and posting consistently, you’ll be absolutely fine!

Whilst these digital trends are only predictions, and anything can pop up, we believe that the sooner you start to adapt your marketing strategy, the better the results that you will receive!
